Unfortunately, there was not enough time to answer them all. Please contact Mr Grünig directly with your remaining questions. You can see his contact details in his presentation in the video. Thank you very much.
Every male Swiss citizen is liable for military service. Swiss women can volunteer for military service. Special regulations apply for Swiss living abroad.
Our webinar was aimed at young Swiss Aroad and their parents who are unsure whether they have to do military service in Switzerland, whether they should do voluntary military service, what has to be taken into account in terms of organisation and administration in both cases, and what the actual procedure is for enlistment, recruit school and any further military service.
In addition to an expert from the Swiss Armed Forces, young Swiss Abroad who recently completed their recruit school were also be available to answer questions, and talked about their experiences. Ariane Rustichelli, Director of the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad (OSA), SwissCommunity, moderated the webinar.
