SwissCommunity Days & Congress of the Swiss Abroad

SwissCommunity

The Congress of the Swiss Abroad is held every four years, in the middle of the legislative period of the Council of the Swiss Abroad (CSA). In the years in between, the “SwissCommunity Days” will take place annually.

In 2024, the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad (OSA) celebrated its 100th Congress, which marked a historic moment. From 2025 onwards, the format of this event will be redesigned to better meet the needs of the Swiss Abroad.

With this redesign OSA is reaffirming its central role in representing the Swiss Abroad by strengthening the link between tradition and innovation in the service of a vibrant and interconnected community.

An optimised and sustainable format

Every four years, in the middle of the legislative period of the Council of the Swiss Abroad (CSA), a Congress of the Swiss Abroad will take place in its traditional format. In between, the SwissCommunity Days will be held. This event will have a dynamic and innovative format, where the focus will be on current priorities. The SwissCommunity Days are open to anyone interested in the featured topics and provide a space for exchange and collaboration through workshops, networking and cultural visits.

Both events will be held in the third week of August, so that this must-attend date is firmly anchored in the annual calendar.

SwissCommunity Days: 22 & 23 August 2025

The SwissCommunity Days combine thematic workshops with the official session of the CSA, creating a valuable platform for exchange between diaspora members, federal authorities and elected representatives. The detailed programme will follow closer to the date.

Location: Bern, Switzerland

Congress of the Swiss Abroad: August 2027

The Congress of the Swiss Abroad provides an opportunity to take stock and deepen reflection on the challenges of the diaspora and international mobility for the Swiss Abroad. The topics covered are deliberately chosen to suit the interests and expectations of this target group.

The congress offers up to 400 participants a full programme with stimulating lectures by renowned speakers and a space to network with compatriots from all over the world and meet leading personalities from Swiss business and politics.

All speeches and meetings at the congress will be held in German or French and simultaneously interpreted into the other language.
