Earlier congresses

Is Swiss culture an export product? This was the question addressed by the speakers at the 99th Congress of the Swiss Abroad from 18 to 20 August 2023 in St. Gallen.

The complexity of social questions increases further. Who is able to tell today how the social, political, economic, employment, migration or mobility situation of tomorrow will look like, to only mention some examples. “What will tomorrow’s world hold?” was the topic of the congress 2019.

In what respect does the point of view of the Swiss abroad sometimes differ from that of the Swiss at home. What is the reaction to it and in which concrete benefits does the special point of view result? In line with the topic, the lecturers noticed that “Swiss at Home and Abroad: (form) one World!”.

Considering the Swiss elections 2015 coming closer, the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad dealt with the question why persons at an age eligible to vote decide not to vote. For the following motto not only applies to the congress topic: “Community education: guarantee for a living democracy”.
